I have been wearing this specific anorak since 2018, mostly from fall to spring. The main reason behind the purchase was the need for a jacket/anorak that could be used as an everyday outerwear in the city but rugged enough to withstand harsh the archipelago environment Sweden has to offer during the fall and winter.
After some research, this anorak became the primary outerwear regardless the occasion, from city stroll to a couple of nights mid-January in the forest.
The material on the chest and back consists of Phyton by Carrington Textiles. Polyester 70%, Cotton 30%. It is a smooth and nice material, breathable yet resistant enough to withstand harsh winds and rain without application of waterproofing substances, however it will get wet with time when it pours. Arms, shoulders, and hood consists of Westridge™ 500 Denier Cordura® Nylon Fabric, DWR Finish – Rugged material that show no to little signs of wear and tear after close to 6 years of everyday use.
Simple zipper top access, wide pocket on the chest that I’ve lined and sewn a Velcro patch against the back portion of the pocket, only to make the internal organization easier with Velcro pouches. Another but bigger zipped pocket on the stomach with access from both sides, this pocket also contains a pullcord to tighten the anorak between your stomach and chest and make it less puffy. The arms contain a zipped pocket each, suitable for a smaller wallet, air pods or similar.
As mentioned earlier, I have been using the anorak during the wintertime with temperatures reaching -20°c, reinforcing with a Taiga Thule Sweater and T-shirt. Worked well during walks and longer periods outside as long as I did not stay static for longer periods.
All and all a great and versatile jacket, sure an Anorak is a but clumsier to put on, compared to a standard jacket with a full front zipper. The price can be viewed as a bit high, that was my opinion when I first bought it. Since then, I have changed my view on it, I can say that materials held up through a lot of use and abuse, the zippers haven’t made any fuzz, no lose threads or signs of stitches coming apart. I am sure that it will be my primary outerwear for another five years.
I agree with Mergerra’s statement – ”Artemis Anorak in MultiCam ® black is the ultimate companion. Unleash the adventurer within, stand out in camouflage, and conquer the world in style!”
